Mercantour National Park Activities
Mercantour National Park
Located in the northern part of Mercantour Park, Bayasse Mountain Lodge is at the crossroads of Alpes de Haute Provence and Alpes Maritimes. It is located on the Cayolle pass road in the majestic Bachelard valley. With its gorges and waterfalls, its larch forests and its lawns, the Bachelard is an alpine valley whose beauty is crowned by the "Route des Grandes Alpes". At an altitude of 1800 m, 9 km before the summit of the Col, the hamlet of Bayasse is the last inhabited village of the Vallon. Protected from the winds by the relief, there are up to 300 days of sunshine a year.
Leaving the lodge, just a few minutes walk and you are immersed in the heart of the Mercantour Park. With the presence of the 6 large ungulates and that of the wolf, it would be surprising if you did not enjoy an observation session. Unless marmots catch your attention!
The Mercantour Park is also the highest national diversity of plant species including 200 rare and 30 endemic, 58 species of mammals and 153 species of birds.
